“The Theological Symposium began issuing credentials.”
The Eucharistic Celebration 2024 officially began with the distribution of credentials to participants who registered for the International Theological Symposium “Fraternity to Heal the World.” On the morning of Monday, September 2, Father Fernando Ponce, Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, received his credential and materials kit from Monsignor David de la Torre, Auxiliary Bishop of Quito and President of the Theological Commission for the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress, and Father Juan Carlos Garzón, General Secretary of IEC 2024.
This academic meeting will start on Wednesday, September 4, at the Cultural Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, beginning at 3:00 PM, with a panel reflecting on fraternity in the Ecuadorian context from various perspectives: history, politics, literature, and Andean worldview.
Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference, a tent has been set up for the distribution of credentials to all participants in the Theological Symposium. Credential distribution will continue on Tuesday, September 3.
