Dominican Republic held National Eucharistic Congress – Vatican News

Fountain: Vatican News

Under the motto “His wounds have healed us”, this event, in preparation for the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress of Quito, was dedicated to prayer. Between conferences, confessions, Eucharistic adoration and the holy mass, thousands of faithful filled the Auditorium of the Casa San Pablo in Santo Domingo on April 7, Divine Mercy Sunday.

What are the fears that enclose us, that are often placed in our minds and in our hearts? It is one of the questions posed by Monsignor Maximiliano Ordóñez, auxiliary bishop of Quito and secretary of the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress, in his homily during the closing holy mass of the National Eucharistic Congress this Sunday, April 7 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The event was the conclusion of a day with various activities in the Casa San Pablo Auditorium, where the faithful who attended had the opportunity to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, listen to conferences and worship Jesus Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.

Starting from the Gospel of the second Sunday of Easter, in which the disciples found themselves with the doors closed for fear of the Jews, the Prelate expressed that sin also locks us in and leads us to a solitary state that suffocates us day by day.
